No Easy Way Out by Robert Tepper

A very dear friend of mine is having her last chemo treatment today: 6 of 6. For most, it would be a (reasonable) cause for celebration. However, for many, the feeling is: “Can I do it? Can I really take one more f-bomb drop of chemo?”

My girlfriend is in that wretched place where chemo takes you. You know the one (actually I hope that you don’t know)…the one where you’re hanging off a cliff, dangling by a thread. It’s a rotten, awful, miserable place, one that cannot be described but is instantly recognizable to those who have been there.

As I was running yesterday, this song came on. Gawd, do I ever love this song. It’s so inspiring. And so true.

What I know for damn sure about FC (f-bomb cancer) is that:

There’s no easy way out there’s no shortcut home
There’s no easy way out givin in givin in can’t be wrong no
There’s no easy way out there’s no shortcut home
There’s no easy no easy no easy way out
